The Jewish DNA

Selective memory is yet another characteristic that can be identified in the Jewish D.N.A.
We remember incredibly well who hurt us, when, and how. We repeatedly forget when and how we hurt others.
Convenient, isn't it?
Over and over, we remind the world how it stood silent when the Nazis harmed Jews. We force the world to remember and never forget. Yet, time and again, we forget how we hurt those very survivors. It is highly convenient for us, as citizens, to stand by and allow this harm to continue. It is convenient for us to forget.
It is convenient for us to wander inside the Victim Triangle.
When we are victims, we are united.
When we are rescuers, we are brave.
But—
When we are perpetrators, we are strong and in control.
So, where do we want to be?
The people want to be united!!!!
The leaders want to rule and be strong!!!!
And only a few of us want to be the brave ones. There isn’t really a place for them among us. They aren’t truly seen, heard, or respected. The people aspire to be like them but fear division. The leaders despise them and use distractions, manipulations, and lies to remain strong and in control.
The Jewish D.N.A can change!!!
We are smart enough to change it. We are strong enough to turn fear into a unifier rather than a divider, and to turn the phrase "Love thy neighbor as thyself" into a force that unites and binds us. We are strong enough to give up violence and reject it outright.
To be a light unto the nations means to act out of love, not out of fear.
Fear leads us to the destruction of our home.
Love will lead us to the building of our home.
There are those who believe, myself included, that our reality is a reflection or a mirror of our inner world. Which means that in our personal world, a violent imprint rules, extending its long arms into every area of our lives.
The capacity for manipulation and lies has strengthened and intensified to the point of perfection. The questions we must ask ourselves are unbearably difficult.
What distractions do we use to ignore the things that bother us?
What lies do we tell ourselves to excuse our inaction for our own good?
What about the manipulations we use on others to reinforce feelings of guilt, shame, and fear?
And all of this, just so we can feel better about ourselves. Yet, that is the greatest lie of all.
Violence is interwoven with manipulations and lies through the fear that the ego awakens in our minds.
Our personal memory is exceptionally selective.
Time and again, we remember when, where, and how we were hurt. We harden our hearts lest, heaven forbid, we get hurt again. We cling to the difficult moments of our childhood and refuse to let them go, because they—they are the excuse for our failure in our own eyes. Time and again, we forget the wonderful, loving, and joyful moments of our childhood, because after all, it would be unthinkable for us to be this miserable if those moments still existed in our memory.
So, where do we want to be?
Are we brave enough, strong enough to stand before our fears?
To face them with absolute love and a wide-open heart?
To give up violence and reject it outright?
Can we act out of love for ourselves and our bodies, and not out of fear?
Will love lead us to build our home and our health?
The answer lies only within us. Within each and every one of us.
It is simple yet complex, easy yet requires an immense amount of work.
Inner and outer work, and with enough willpower, perhaps the people will unite out of love. The leaders will rule out of love, and all of us will be brave.
